The storm god fell in love with a mortal woman.
I cannot say how it happened. I was not there. But his eyes, when I saw them blaze in their thunder-cloud glory, told a story that bespoke of a love greater than I had ever known.
“Well?” I asked.
“I will go to the underworld and beg, if I must,” he said. “He cannot take her life if there is someone willing to vouch for her.”
“But she is dying, Lorcan.”
“Death has no power over me,” he murmured.
I could not argue with him in such a state.
This is my third take on the 100 Story Challenge! Lyrics define these stories, and this piece‘s title was inspired by “Meet Me on the Equinox” from Death Cab for Cutie.
