The first time James Dean saw Gatsby, the man was kicking down a door like a madman.

James Dean was more than a little impressed by the guy’s resolve.

Daisy immediately stood, broken from her concentration on the simulation.

“Gatsby,” she said, her voice stunned.

“Daisy,” the man responded — as if there were no other name that belonged on his lips.

Immediately, James Dean knew that these two had history.

Daisy glanced his way. She seemed uncertain.

If you must, James Dean thought, glancing away to give the two of them privacy.

A kiss at that point? It was inevitable.

This series is inspired by 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in a city on the brink of dystopian musings. Each story is 100 words, a snapshot of a larger narrative at play.
