I’ve read a lot from you (though I rarely comment), but I think I fell a little bit in love with you with this piece. I once knew bookstores (particularly Half Price Books locations) like the back of my hand; I also was able to tell you when and where I bought specific books I owned and loved. But that kind of memory for these things has gone the way of the roadside as more of my book shopping is done online. It’s definitely not as magical or exciting. I mourn for the days when it was so easy to walk into a bookstore and come out with a small stack of books to devour over a weekend. That girl seems lost to me. But I’m glad there are still readers and book collectors like you out there. Gives me hope for the world, truly, and I sometimes wish your bookstore still existed so I could visit and peruse the shelves. It would be an experience, I’m sure.
