I’ve Got Nothing to Lose
100 Lyrics into Stories — No63
The fifth queen sat on the throne and oversaw a dying kingdom.
Midas had begun this legacy with his bloodline — all those eons ago with his golden touch — and with each successive generation his power had grown dimmer. Now Calissa, the queen who sat on the throne at that very moment, could barely make gold dust appear at her fingertips.
But she sat in a palace of gold that Midas had created alongside his queen.
No one knew where the power had come from.
Calissa had been raised to think it a blessing.
But now? She thought it a curse.
