Chaos reigned in the kingdoms beyond the Althean borders — but inside the fortress of Sommerton sat two guards by the names of Nashia and Taralt.
Taralt was Old Blood, keen to mischief and even better with his tongue when it came to the odd limerick.
Nashia was far more poised, once a healer in the Garathean territories, and she rarely had a bad word to speak against anyone.
It was trickery that she and Taralt even met.
“One for old time’s sake?” she asked, holding up the wineskin.
Taralt sighed. “What would it hurt?”
War was coming to their walls.
This is my third take on the 100 Story Challenge! Lyrics define these stories, and this piece‘s title was inspired by “My Never” from Blue October.
