Aracely sits in the throne room, waiting for her advisor to arrive. But he is late to the one-woman party, as usual, likely because he’s attending to the needs of his favorite sycophants. But no matter. She’ll wait.
She runs her fingers along the spine of the tome in her lap. Sighing, she allows herself one glimpse into the pages before she shuts the book tight.
“The spells in here are forbidden,” she whispers. But it doesn’t matter.
She cracks open the book and allows her gaze to linger.
The first spell is how to make someone love you.
This is my third take on the 100 Story Challenge! Lyrics define these stories, and this piece‘s title was inspired by “QUARTER LIFE CRISIS” from Taylor Bickett.
