The showgirls of the new age were the peacock girls — all dressed in a myriad of blues and greens that shimmered with the after-hints of gold. They knew their power and smiled their ways through rooms filled with the rich and famous.
A girl named Maeriad was the only one who stood apart with her pink-and-purple hair. But she didn’t like attention, that one, no matter how eyes lingered upon her.
There was one gentleman who called on her regularly. He was a friend, an ally, from another age.
They had been kept apart far too long.
This is my third take on the 100 Story Challenge! Lyrics define these stories, and this piece‘s title was inspired from “Halfway” by James Blunt.
