oh, you’ve got that halo
of a hundred spectators waiting
on your every spoken word
as if you’re a god from another realm

and i get lost in you,
the very real magic of you,
as if you’re no stranger to this life
spun in spades and hearts and diamonds

take a bow, and draw the card,
and make me yours tonight
in this realm of human misconception

oh, you’ve got that halo
of a thousand people wanting to be you —
as if you’re a magician of the senses
or a lost royal from another universe

and i get overwhelmed
when i see you reeling from it all —
as if it’s a surprise, a shock,
a spark to the foundation

take a bow, and aim the arrow,
and tell me again that you love me
even if the words will be a lie tomorrow

oh, you’ve got that halo
of a million people clocking in
just to see what you’re doing when and where —
your face on every tabloid in all…
