I’m No Sweet Dream
100 Lyrics into Stories — No51
The last queen sat on a throne surrounded by spilled blood.
The crimson stains were from her last suitor, a man who insulted her by bringing her a bouquet of black roses. She took a dagger to his throat and sliced him open till his blood coated her fingers like a glove.
Then she smiled, serene, before she brought the blade to her lips and licked.
They called her the mad queen in whispers.
Was she broken?
No.
She had cultivated herself this way from a young age.
Men just happened to be the source of her ire most days.
