I’m glad you wrote this. My mother was on dialysis for eighteen months before she had a kidney transplant, and I never really wrote about it besides some stuff for school. I just feel like it’s not my story to tell, you know? But she suffered a lot with health problems thanks to type-1 diabetes (which she managed quite well before she fell into depression). ANYWAY, sorry to hijack your thread, but - again - I’m glad you took the time to write this and share your story. I know it probably took a lot out of you, but you managed to give it a humorous bent regardless, as is your penchant.
