Queens left their fingerprints over everything — and the one to inherit the Jarenthian throne was no different. Cascadia was the name she had chosen at her coronation on her fifteenth birthday while her sisters had still been weeping over their mother’s death. Her father, the Queen’s Consort, had looked at her with steely eyes because his power — suddenly — was gone with one miscalculation of Death’s scythe.

But it didn’t matter. She would see to it that all her political enemies met their ends in due time. Even if that meant her father were going to eventually become one such nemesis.

This is my third take on the 100 Story Challenge! Lyrics define these stories, and this piece‘s title was inspired by “Anti-Hero” from Taylor Swift.
