I get what you’re saying, and I thank you for the critique. But I guess we just have different ideas of how to use myths and archetypes in fiction. I had this idea of Odysseus being reincarnated to be a general - a strategist - throughout centuries under Athena, and his soul has gotten tired of it, being a puppet to wars and circumstance. That was obviously too much to convey in 500 words. I’ll do better with trying to tighten up my storytelling and characterizations in ficlets like this. The idea is to become a better writer and storyteller, after all.
