Love didn’t know a name such as her — the beauty who haunted my dreams.
Every day I glimpsed her, it was like fire had ignited under my skin. I wanted nothing more than to be skin to skin with her, everywhere, happenstance be damned.
But fate had other plans indeed.
While I tried to hide my pining, there were seven gods who looked on — waiting for their chance too.
Men could be beasts. I tried not to be one myself.
But every time it was a struggle.
Love was a game, it’s true — but I hoped to win.
For keeps.
