The simulation in the cell changed against before Daisy’s very eyes.
Her mouth twisted as she took in a tropical paradise. It was far from the austere setting where she had met Gatsby. That seemed so long ago.
But she wouldn’t wait for him. No. There had been too many hurts.
All this time, she had been searching — and then she had gotten herself locked in a cell with no way out.
If he wanted to come for her, he would have done so already.
She had to get creative.
She had to free herself.
It was the only way.
This series is inspired by 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in a city on the brink of dystopian musings. Each story is 100 words, a snapshot of a larger narrative at play.
