Heaven’s Feel

A Poem

lost,
disconnect,
trying to reboot
but
the wires are undone,
left to compute
falsehoods

gaining,
never crying,
always just a war
between
what makes you feel alive
versus
what kills the heart inside you

trying,
it never fails —
only when you don’t do it —
but
we’re coping mechanisms
in each other’s stories
while we languish elsewhere

oh,
gifted trinity,
what do you see?
is there hope
for us,
or none at all?

longing
only works
when you’re willing
to give up
or
find someone else’s hand
to hold for a few hours
