keep your eyes peeled
since you never know
who might show up.

glitterati, glitterati —
oh, they sparkle like stars
and dazzle like moonlight rays
as if midnight’s never leaving the scene.

hold tight to your morals
or be prepared for the worst
because you’re not getting away unchanged.

glitterati, glitterati —
oh, they shine like jewels
and take up every spotlight
till there’s nothing left but dancing in the dark.

don’t lose yourself in the whims
of another life turned upside down
because tomorrow’s another day for trying.

glitterati, glitterati —
oh, they strut like peacock dolls,
always ready to take up every space
with the weight and heft of their egos.

don’t stray if you can avoid it,
but drink until sunrise catches the horizon
and raise a toast to gods left behind long, long ago.
