She hadn’t been born the snow queen, but she would live up to her name. Curses were just gifts in other guises, weren’t they? And what was the point in trying to avoid fate?

Perhaps there would come a day when someone could melt the ice around her heart.

But that time felt far off like a distant dream. What right did she have to glimpse such grace?

Witches may have been the reason for her predicaments, but she had never been the type to hold a grudge.

She would wait out the storm — just as she had always done.

This is a part of my endeavor to go back to writing tighter fiction with more stringent word counts. It’s just one attempt at the 100 Story Challenge because I thought it would be a good exercise to do to keep my imagination sharp. We’ll see how it goes.
