Fingerprints of the Gods
A tale from another time…
Before there were humans, there was the Divine Mother.
But she angered the God of Chaos, who wanted her to stop creating all the fixtures of the universe. He was jealous and spiteful, wishing her power of creation was his own.
In the Divine Realm — in the Realm that exists between all things, that echoes in the breath of every moment — she saw that Chaos would not stop pursuing her through all the stars across all the galaxies in all the universe. She touched worlds — thousands of them — while he chased her, trying to annihilate her.
With her last breath after a wound to her ephemeral body, she spilled out one last world from her throat and the tip of her tongue — and that world was Earth. It held all the things of the world as we know it — except for humans.
Then the Divine Mother died, and the world was dark for a time, until the God of Chaos stepped in.
Using the blueprints of the other worlds he’d studied, he crafted a man after his own image. The man was empty, however, and he needed to be filled.
So the God of Chaos split the remnants of the Divine Mother’s body and stuffed it into the man until he was over-full with new ideas and new thoughts.
