The Chronicles of Ghostboy and Lovergirl — Epilogue
As night engulfied Silversundown, Dahlia was looking out of her penthouse suite, her arms crossed over her chest.
She heard the door open, and then she looked over her shoulder to see Adam let himself inside.
“It’s done. The girl won’t be bothering us anymore.”
“Was it that simple? Silversundown will be safe?”
“More than safe,” he said, coming up behind her and bringing his arms around her shoulders. “Shall I tell you?”
“Yes.”
“This city?” he whispered. “It’s ours, Dahlia.”
He brought a kiss to her throat.
“The dreams will end. You’re safe. I’m safe. Our future is secured.”
The Chronicles of Ghostboy and Lovergirl is a microfiction series inspired by Taylor Swift’s Lover album (released 2019). Each story can be read as a standalone, but they build on each other for this superhero universe I’ve created.
