As soon as the man — Edmund Reyes, his business card read — was satisfied with his chatter, Kitty donned her faux-fur coat and headed out the back door. In truth, she had more than a little jolt to her step even as she walked on high heels to her destination.
She was having dinner with Lawrence Rothschild — her benefactor and owner of the theater venue where she performed six shows a week.
His kiss wasn’t hers, but her heart had long lain at his altar since she was young.
She would have been in the gutter without him, after all.
A Tale of Glitz & Glamour was inspired by Taylor Swift’s twelfth album The Life of a Showgirl. The main character is inspired by Taylor Swift’s showgirl character Kitty Finley. Out of copyright concerns, I have added my own embellishments to make the character my own, but each piece was inspired by one of Swift’s songs on the album.
