You thought she was the one who would bring all your broken pieces together.

(Why did you expect her to fix what even you couldn’t fix?)

You thought she was the one who would make clarity out of all the fog that was yourself.

(Why did you think her such a power when she couldn’t even save herself?)

You thanked every god and every faraway star that she was in your life.

(Why did you believe in a higher power only when you looked at her?)

You collected all her smiles in a memory jar that would make you smile when your thoughts trailed her way.

(Did you ever think you might be the reason for the tears she shed behind closed doors?)

You never thought of endings because she was the stuff of new beginnings.

(Did you really think a feeling like a firework bursting overhead could last forever?)

You glimpsed all your future prospects with her in mind.

(Did she do the same for you?)

You laughed when everyone said you had fallen too hard too fast.
