Dine-and-Dash Girl

I knew she was something the moment she said the words.

The first time I knew Sally was crazy, she spoke the words that stilled my heart.

“Let’s dine and dash. Come on. It’ll be fun. A thrill.”

I glanced at the waitress who was standing only feet away. “What the hell, Sal?” I asked, feeling sweat build up behind my collar. “We can’t do that.”

“It would get your heart racing faster than sex would, I bet.”

“I’m not dining and dashing.”

“Aww, you’re no fun.” Sally took one of my cold French fries. “You want to know something?”

“What?”

“I would have dumped you if you had said yes.”
