hello, we meet again
at the end of this page
while I cast these words
to the hellfire waiting.

did you ever wonder why
I never strayed
while the paragraphs
collected my tears?

did you ever think
this ink was my blood
to stain you red
in every empty space?

they say it so cutely —
dear diary
while I treat this book
like a confessional.

hello, it’s me —
the same as always
because I never leave
during all my lonely hours.

did you ever wonder why
I always talked
as if my secrets spilled
like diamonds from my throat?

did you ever think
these longform notes
might one day
become my legacy?

it’s such a gimmick —
dear diary
but I fall for it
each and every time.
