Capsizing

A Poem

help
i’m floating,
but it feels like falling
in an abyss
of my own making.

the plea bubbles up and out,
but nobody hears, nobody hears.

if you’re capsizing and no one reachs out,
what can you do but wait to drown in it all?

please
i’m spiraling,
but it feels like losing
my goddamn mind
after all this time.

the words don’t get past the surface,
and nobody knows, nobody knows.

if you’re capsizing and no one sees,
what are you but a ghost lost at sea?

oh
i’m halfway down,
and i’m choking on
everything i held back,
everything i didn’t say.

and on and on it goes, just like this,
an underwater parade where i’m center stage.

if you’re capsizing and no one looks at you,
what can you do but succumb to the tides?
