In comics, superheroes lived out in plain sight. Sometimes you’d see them have alter egos.
In Silversundown, the superheroes all lived normal lives with their own aliases — ruses, really, about what they could really do.
Sonic, Lovergirl’s ex-boyfriend, was a music producer by day — but he manipulated the airwaves each night as a radio DJ. Thousands of people across Silversundown listened to him.
Heat, a colleague of Ghostboy’s, walked the streets as a social media influencer. In secret, he created songs that saved souls every single day.
They were all metaphors of people at the end of the day.
The Chronicles of Ghostboy and Lovergirl is a microfiction series inspired by Taylor Swift’s Lover album (released 2019). Each story can be read as a standalone, but they build on each other for this superhero universe I’ve created.
