Daisy closed her eyes in the simulation.

Somewhere, out there, she knew Gatsby was fighting. Thinking about him made her heart hurt. All manner of robots and men could come after him, but she knew he would prevail. That was the kind of person he was.

She? She was weak.

That was how she had gotten caught up in the simulations in the first place.

While all the zombies and robots made their homes in the falling world outside, she saw the end before it began.

It would begin slowly.

Then, like dominoes, it would come.

The world would fall.

This series is inspired by 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in a city on the brink of dystopian musings. Each story is 100 words, a snapshot of a larger narrative at play.
