The next time Tigerlily went to the hospital to see her brother, she found his room empty.
And there was someone else waiting for her.
Adam Golding sat looking at her serenely, his hands clasped over his crossed leg.
“Hello, Tigerlily,” he said, “or should I say Veronica Danvers? I’m not picky about names.”
Tigerlily stared. Even though she knew the face and the voice from ads across Silversundown, she knew this wasn’t a call for pleasantries.
“Where’s my brother?” she asked through gritted teeth.
Adam shrugged. “Safe. Only I know where, though.”
Then he smiled. “Let’s chat, shall we?”
The Chronicles of Ghostboy and Lovergirl is a microfiction series inspired by Taylor Swift’s Lover album (released 2019). Each story can be read as a standalone, but they build on each other for this superhero universe I’ve created.
