An Early Christmas Gift Just For You
Shall we keep this just between us?
Hi, babe. Did you miss me?
You look surprised. Good — that’s just the reaction I wanted. You didn’t expect me to show up on your doorstep just a few weeks from Christmas, did you? You thought I was just an old memory from the East Coast, left to disintegrate with the loss of summer and the return of winter frost.
I always told you: I’m an overachiever to the max. It was worth it to hop the plane and be able to stand in front of you right now. I don’t think I could have asked Santa for a better Christmas gift.
But this isn’t about me. This is all about you, baby.
I would have done the whole shebang — wearing a trench coat and nothing beneath except a red bow fit for the occasion. But I didn’t think that would be romantic enough for you. I always want to delight your senses and light fire to your mind.
Here. It’s a present.
Don’t look at me like that. Why are you suspicious? I promise there’s nothing in there that will bite.
Oh, I know. You’re still in shock just to see me. That explains it. And here I was worried you didn’t want to see me. That would have been such a shame.
