All the Stories Lead to “My” Destination

It’s time again for another compilation post of my kinda-sorta-taboo-if-you-tilt-your-head-and-squint series of stories. Though I don’t follow the assumed trajectory with these stories, I still try to frame them in the sense of examining what could be assumed as “problematic” from an outsider’s POV.

Case in point is this first story where a father must deal with the fact that his daughter’s best friend may or may not have a crush on him. In a typical taboo story, you’d have this situation be exploited in some way — but that’s too simple for me. I don’t like easy answers or typical drama. People are complicated, so my stories — and the characters that inhabit them — are just as tangled up in battles over what is right and wrong.

Next is a little breakaway from the norm in that the story is speculative and satirical. I didn’t know if I should include it in this round-up, but I did initially tackle it as a part of this series. If I ever wrote a vampire novel, it would probably come out a lot like this.

And then there’s a potential “cheating” story, as this series has been quick to take up as a running theme.

As I go on, though, there’s really less and less material for the people who started reading these stories for potential smut…
