A Shopaholic’s Christmas Eve
Can you buy a Christmas miracle?
Even as a self-proclaimed shopaholic, Heather Spooner always waited until the absolute last minute to buy Christmas presents for her friends and family. As she went into crowded stores where other panicked buyers sought the perfect gifts, she told herself she’d be getting the best deals and the most bang for her buck.
“You’re insane,” her boyfriend David told her. “Why would you do that to yourself? Shopping on Christmas Eve is even worse than going out for Black Friday deals.”
“You don’t understand,” she said. “I have a great track record for buying presents on Christmas Eve. You know that vinyl case I bought for your mom last year? I got that half-off because the record store couldn’t wait to get rid of it.”
“Sounds like you just got lucky,” David muttered under his breath.
“And you know that razor I bought for you last year? I got it on Christmas Eve. Best thirty dollars I’ve ever spent.”
“I think you just like to give yourself that rush of panic buying. I don’t understand it otherwise.”
“And you never will, darling,” Heather said in her best haughty voice. Her boyfriend just rolled his eyes in response.
