It took a long time for Daisy to live without the simulations once the system died.

She felt as if something had been stolen from her.

But it felt freeing too. How could it not be? The simulations had become her life.

That was why the robots had wanted her in the first place.

But she still had visions of a time when things would fall. It scared her.

She chatted with Gatsby in a garden.

She laughed with James Dean in a coffee shop.

The zombies were still there. The robots too.

But they could be ignored.

In time.

This series is inspired by 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in a city on the brink of dystopian musings. Each story is 100 words, a snapshot of a larger narrative at play.
